Mail module — overview and architecture

What the uAdmin mail module offers: Postfix, Dovecot, Roundcube webmail, rspamd and connector API on a dedicated Ubuntu 24.04 VM, managed from the panel.

  1. Components

    Mail stack on a dedicated VM: Postfix (SMTP 25/587/465), Dovecot (IMAPS 993, POP3S 995), Roundcube webmail (HTTPS 443), MariaDB for mail users, rspamd antispam, ClamAV antivirus (Rspamd module), Redis for webmail SSO sessions and uAdmin mail connector (HMAC API on port 8444).

  2. Panel ↔ mail server

    The panel communicates via SSH (wizard install, re-apply steps) and HTTPS connector API (domains, mailboxes, webmail session, queue, rspamd). Firewall on the mail VM allows the connector only from panel IPs.

  3. DNS integration

    When DNS Primary is active, the panel automatically adds MX, SPF, DMARC and DKIM records when creating a mail domain. The TLS certificate (Let's Encrypt DNS-01) includes mail.{domain} and webmail.{domain} for each virtual domain.
